2025 to 2026 Fundraising Initiative

Namaste everyone! We made it all the way through 2024 without needing any fundraising but as times have gotten tough for eveyrone, our donations have declined to the point that Mike and I can no longer carry the remaining unmet need from our own income. We are hoping that another miracle will manifest to carry us through and keep the Second Home Child Outreach going for another year!

For anyone new to this project, we are a grassroots charitable trust, which means we send 100% of our donations to provide direct care for 25 Nepali children in an impoverished area of Kathmandu. The Second Home Child Outreach Program sees 25 children per day, providing them with a large meal, homework assistance, hygiene and medical supplies, clothing supplies, emotional support, and family assistance. This is our upstream contribution to keeping children safe and happy, at home with families who otherwise might not be able to care for them, having them leave school for the workforce at a young age, or even more heartbreaking, having to relinquish them to the orphanage system.

Our program only requires $525 CAD per month to provide all of this, and has been running for almost 10 years in the Narayantar district of Kathmandu. We currently have regular monthly donations from cherished family and friends that total $145/month. Our unmet need is $380/month or $4,560 for the entire calendar year. We are hoping to raise enough money to support the program until next December (December, 2026).
