Archives: fundraising call to save baby Saran!

I met Sum Saran "Mao" in Cambodia in 2009. He was working very hard, driving a tuktuk. Now, he is the father of a beautiful little girl and his wife has just given birth to their son, who is premature. He is unable to feed, and requires extensive medical attention, which is difficult to obtain for the poor in Siem Reap. Barely making ends meet, Mao cannot afford the $400 CAD required to care for his infant son. Please help us help this little fighter. It costs less than a video game system to save a life. I know we can do this.

Thank you to the people who have donated to this most worthy of causes: saving the life of Sum Saran's wife and child. Here is the progress thus far:

Donations list:

Alisha: $100 Michelle P: $15 Kristin: $15 Jolene: $10 Jennifer C.: $10 Simaran: $50 Sandie: $20 Shannon: $40 Erin: $50 Chelsey G: $50 Anna L: $10 Christie/Davios: $100 Gary B.: $50 Janice: $20

Total: $540! Update: I will be sending the money (and my best thoughts) to the Saran family on Thursday afternoon. Please keep them in your heart this week. Especially baby, who needs to be a big tough champ this week and come out swinging. There aren't many supplies and baby seems to be unable to feed. No feeding tube at this point, though it's unclear what the issues are (they may not have any). All we can do is keep the love paid forward! Thanks, everyone :)
