2019 Fundraising Initiative

We are hoping for another Christmas miracle! Somehow we have kept the Second Home Child Outreach Program running against all odds for 3 years and we are hoping to carry it on for a 4th! It provides one nutritious meal per day, medical assistance, educational assistance, parental support, clean water and hygiene opportunities, and a safe place to meet after school for 27 impoverished children in the Narayantar district of Kathmandu.

This has been instrumental in helping local families (many earthquake survivors living in harsh conditions) keep their families intact and keep their children out of orphanages or factories. We have seen firsthand the benefits of providing a fresh school uniform and education opportunity to a child who was previously hustling on the street to try to provide for a hurting family. We aim to protect and help those struggling the most by building up a community around them, and to support their children through very difficult times.

This charity only costs $6,000 CAD to operate for an entire year. That's an entire year of fresh drinking water, full bellies, happy families, healthy children. 100% of donations go directly to providing care to the children. There is zero overhead. There are no paid staff. The website, the money transfers, anything extraneous to feeding and clothing the kids is provided by my husband and I. No donations ever go to anything except the kids. Full stop.

We have $220 in monthly donations at the moment, and still need $3360 CAD to make it through 2019. We are hoping that you will consider making a donation to this amazing program to help these deserving families care for their little ones. It is such a small amount that makes such a huge difference. Literally every cent counts. Please keep us in your thoughts this giving season, and let's get these families through one more year.
