Help us make it through 2020!

Somehow we have made it through 4 whole years! Every time we start running on fumes, a miracle happens and wonderful humans step in to get our kids in the Second Home Child Outreach program through another year! Our grassroots program provides educational, nutritional, medical, and family support to 27 children in Narayantar, an impoverished area of Kathmandu, Nepal. This is an upstream intervention program to protect families from having to give their children up to the orphanage system due to extreme poverty. The program supports the children to attend school, providing school supplies, uniforms, fees, and after school educational support through homework assistance. It also provides one hearty nutritious meal to each child after school, and incidental medical support for treatment for illness such as broken bones, infections, and doctor's visits. The program is run by an incredibly generous and caring local family, Asha and Devendra Aryal, who have donated their time and home to helping these children and parents in their community.

We started this program in 2016 with the Aryals, whom we have known for over 10 years. There is 0% overhead, the website and transfer fees are all paid for out of our own pockets and never from donations. 100% of all money donated goes directly to the care of these children. As a result, we have been able to operate this program with very simple fundraising. The goal for the year is $6000. We will be sending $500 per month to support these 27 children and their families. Here is a breakdown of our goals and needs:
